"Skeleton Twins" directed by Craig Johnson starring Kristin Wiig, Bill Hader, & Luke Wilson.
Out of all the movies I've seen in the past year I would have to say my absolute favorite was "Skeleton Twins" I saw in theaters a few weeks ago. This film is about estranged twins, having both coincidentally cheated death on the same day, reuniting with the possibility of mending their broken relationship. I went to go see this movie because I was familiar with and enjoyed the actors previous comedic roles, but wanted to see their acting capabilities in this dramedy. They were absolutely amazing in expressing their character's struggles and how it shaped their lives. I found it to be the perfect blend of humor and seriousness that this story needed to connect the audience and resonate with them about how life is weird and unexpected with an emphasis on family ties.
I have absolutely loved this movie since I saw it theaters in 2000 when I was 6 years old. I have grown very attached to it because it is still able to make me smile and laugh even 14 years after I first saw it. Jim Carrey is absolutely brilliant in bringing to life such a well known and beloved cartoon character. I seriously cannot help but get excited and eager to watch it ever December, and even other non-Christmas months!
Hi Abbey!
ReplyDeleteI really like your movie choices. I am very familiar with the cast of Skeleton Twins and I will be watching this movie now when i find the time. I also love movies with a melodramatic tone. Jim Carrey is an all around favorite for me as well. The Grinch is a movie I watch every year as well. Classic!
"Skeleton Twins" sounds great.
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't love the Grinch?! One of the greatest Christmas movies ever. First movie I ever saw in the theaters. Fantastic movie!
